Belly Dance portraits are all about fun and fantasy!
This is your opportunity to be immortalised as the belly dancer of your dreams! Whether it is for marketing and publicity or as a gift for yourself or someone else, the finished artwork will be specifically created to make you smile and feel good.
A good quality clear photograph will be needed for me to work from. But the costume, hair, make-up, jewelry, props and background can be designed by you.
If you want hair that hangs to the floor or a costume studded with diamonds and rubies then just ask. If you want to be stood in front of the pyramids in Egypt or dancing through the midnight sky then that‘s fine too, the sky is the limit, quite literally!
The portrait can be as personal as you choose incorporating your favourite colours and styles, significant pieces of jewelry, props and locations.
Or if you prefer, you can keep it simple and just choose a basic colour scheme and style and let me design the rest

Pricing
Creating a belly dance portrait takes many hours, with the average cost of creating a portrait at £500 so three different levels of pricing have been created to cater for different needs and budgets.
Level one - Portrait only - £60 to £100
Rachelle will create a portrait for you from a photograph and you will receive a high quality glossy print of the artwork.
However, the rights to the artwork will still be owned by Rachelle and so the portrait can be used on Rachelle Belly Dance Artist products such as cards, bags, and posters, which you will be able to order through www.rachellybellydanceartist.com at any time if you choose.
The level of detail required in the piece will determine how much the portrait is. As a guide the portrait of Helena on the previous page would be around £60 and the artwork pictured left would be around £100 as there is a lot more detail.
If you really don’t fancy having your face on belly dance products, or if the portrait is a gift for someone and you are not sure how they will feel about that either, then Rachelle can change the features on the face slightly on the version that will go on the website so nobody will know who it really is!
Level Two - Dual Rights - £200 to £250
Again, Rachelle will create a portrait from a photograph, but this time you will both own the rights to the picture.
This means that you will receive a disk with high quality versions of the portrait as well as a high quality print.
Rachelle will produce up to five different versions of the art-work for you to use for your own marketing and publicity material such as your website, posters and flyers and even your own merchandise if you choose.
Rachelle will also own the rights to the portrait so it will be used on Rachelle Belly Dance Artist products as well.
Please note that the different versions of the artwork only include basic alterations such as background colour, adding your name, or creating close up or head shot versions of the portrait.
Level Three - Full ownership - £450 to £500
Rachelle will work with you to create a portrait that you will be able to use exclusively however you wish.
You will receive a high quality 1/1 signed print and complete rights to the picture, which means that any products or merchandise you create using the artwork will not be found anywhere else.
The artwork will only be used by Rachelle as an example in her portfolio but will not be made into Rachelle Belly Dance Artist products.
Rachelle will work with you to ensure that you have up to ten different versions of the artwork that will meet your every possible need

At least one good quality photograph is needed to create the portrait. The photograph needs to be in the pose that you wish to be used in the portrait and in a costume which is similar in style to the one you would like to be included in the final piece. For example if you would like your portrait to be in a two piece costume then please send a photo of yourself in a two piece outfit.
This could be just a bra and skirt though as the colour, fabric and details will be drawn in as you choose.
Please send photos in jpeg format on a disk or via facebook to Rachelle Belly Dance Artist, or you can post an original photo which will be returned.
A 50% deposit is required on booking the portrait and the remaining 50% will be paid upon receipt of the final piece.
